Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated August 19, 2026

This policy explains how cancellation, refunds, upgrades, downgrades, and billing issues work for StudioFlow subscriptions.

1. Core policy

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, payments for StudioFlow subscriptions and digital services are generally non-refundable.

This reflects how digital subscriptions work: you get access to StudioFlow's paid features for the billing period you paid for, and usage credits are allocated for that period. This policy doesn't limit any refund right that applicable consumer-protection law gives you in your country, or any right our payment provider's own rules require us to honor.

2. What isn't refunded

As a normal course of business, we don't provide refunds for:

  • Unused time remaining in a billing period after cancellation;
  • Unused generation credits or feature allowances;
  • Simply not using the service during a paid period;
  • Forgetting to cancel before a renewal;
  • Changing your mind after downgrading or changing plans; or
  • Not being satisfied with the output of a specific generation.

This list describes our routine practice — it doesn't override a refund right you have under applicable law, and we may still grant an exception as described in Section 8.

3. Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops future automatic renewal — it does not, by itself, trigger a refund for the current period. Unless we say otherwise for a specific situation, you keep access to your plan's paid features until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and your account then moves to the Free plan.

4. Upgrades

Moving to a higher plan (for example, Pro to Studio, or monthly to annual) generally takes effect immediately, with any proration handled according to our payment provider's standard billing rules. Your new plan's project limits and credit allowance apply right away.

5. Downgrades

Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the start of your next billing period, so you keep what you already paid for through the end of the current one. If you're above the new plan's project limit when the downgrade takes effect, your existing projects are not deleted — access to the excess is restricted (read-only) rather than removed, until you're back within your plan's limit or you upgrade again. Unused credits or benefits from the higher plan don't carry forward or convert to a refund.

6. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, our payment provider may retry it automatically. During this time your subscription may show as "past due" — you may temporarily keep access while it's retried, but continued failure will lead to feature restrictions and eventually cancellation. Data and projects are not deleted because of a failed payment; a downgrade to Free simply restricts paid features the same way a normal downgrade would.

7. Duplicate or incorrect charges

If you believe you were charged in error — a duplicate charge, or a charge that doesn't match your plan — contact us at legal@sunstave.com with your account email and, if possible, the transaction date. We'll investigate and correct genuine billing errors.

8. Exceptional refunds

SunStave may, at its sole discretion and subject to applicable law, issue a refund, partial refund, credit, extension, or other billing adjustment in exceptional circumstances. Granting an exception in one instance does not create an obligation to grant the same exception in another instance, for the same person or anyone else.

9. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at legal@sunstave.com — most issues can be resolved faster this way than through your bank or card issuer. Filing a chargeback for a charge you authorized, without contacting us first, can result in suspension of your account while the dispute is investigated. Where necessary to respond to a dispute, we may provide relevant account and transaction records to our payment processor.

10. Final decisions

Discretionary refund, credit, and billing-adjustment decisions are made by SunStave based on the specific circumstances and applicable law. This policy does not limit any mandatory right you have under the law of your country of residence.
